CAKE
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease 3 round cake pans (8-inch) and line bottoms with waxed paper.
Cream butter and sugar and blend in beaten eggs.
Add 1/2 cup cake flour.
Add cream, mixed with buttermilk.
Combine remaining cake flour, baking soda, and baking powder; sift together.
Dissolve cocoa in boiling water. Cool. Add to batter alternately with flour mixture.
Add vanilla.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 to 25 minutes.
Cool completely.
Spread Frosting between layers, on sides and on top of cake.
FROSTING
Sift confectioners sugar and cocoa together. Set aside.
Cream butter.
Add confectioners sugar and cocoa to butter. Mix well.
Add coffee and vanilla extract. Mix well.
